Active Discipleship
“And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem…they told what had happened on the road” – Luke 24:33-35
Catechesis leads to Encounter, and in meeting the Lord we are changed.
“Changed by the working of grace into a new creature, the Christian sets himself to follow Christ and learns more and more within the Church to think like Him, to judge like Him, to act in conformity with His commandments and to hope as He invites us.” – Saint Pope John Paul II
Ever more conformed to Him, we are sent out on mission to share the Good News in our testimony and witness of our lives.

Interested in becoming a catechist?
While all the baptized are called to proclaim and give witness to the Faith, as a catechist, we have the solemn responsibility and intense joy to bring others into the "mystery of Christ" in our instruction.
Catechists are asked to commit themselves as an authentic witness to living and vibrant faith; to professing and instructing the fullness of Truth; and to continuing their own personal faith formation. These commitments, built upon a life of sacrament and prayer, will prepare catechists as missionary disciples in their classrooms.
"You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit, fruit that will last" (John 15:16). If you have prayerfully discerned Christ's call, contact us to find out more at dre@holyspirithsv.com

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is an annual, week-long summer camp that provides fellowship and faith formation for parish youth ages 3 to completed 3rd grade. Through crafts, music, games, and faith stations, children grow in love of the Lord and His Church.
VBS is staffed by volunteers - both confirmed youth and adult. Consider sharing your gifts and talents to bring this Catholic summer adventure to life and contact reled@holyspirithsv.com
Retreat Support
The definite aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ: only He can lead us to the love of the Faith in the Spirit and make us share in the life of the Holy Trinity. - Pope St John Paul II, Catechesi Tradendae
Retreats are a crucial opportunity to encounter the Lord and experience conversion. Throughout the year, various retreats are made available for those in sacrament preparation (First Holy Communion, Confirmation, and OCIA / RICA) to facilitate an intimate communion with Christ.
Whether you are interested in providing hospitality, serving as a group discussion leader, preparing arts and crafts or decorating, your time and talents are needed. Reach out at dre@holyspirithsv.comto become part of the Retreat Team.
Child Care and Nursery Support
Child care and nursery support is a critical part of the Religious Education team.
If you are 18 years or older, consider sharing your time and talents with young children while their parent(s) attend OCIA and RICA classes on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
